Mastering the art of flying a helicopter is an awesome achievement. The day it all comes together for the first time – say when you successfully hold a stable hover or make your first solo cross country – is one of the most satisfying feelings you’ll ever have.

The skill of flying, however, is only part of the equation. To operate safely and proficiently as a helicopter pilot requires a sound and thorough knowledge of your aircraft and the airspace environment in which you are operating. Simply put, this knowledge can possibly save you, your aircraft or your passengers one day.

The ground school aspect of your training is often overlooked by many flight schools. At Havens Aviation we offer a full curriculum of ground school lessons to accompany your flight training. All classes are taught by certified flight instructors with a long history of successfully coaching students to success in both the FAA written exams and the oral portion of the check ride.
