Helicopter Training Beyond the Minimum

Havens Aviation offers a different kind of helicopter flight training—designed for students who want to become capable, confident pilots, not simply meet the minimum requirements for a certificate.

Our training is led by an experienced professional helicopter pilot and flight instructor with real-world operational experience. Students receive focused, one-on-one instruction built around strong aircraft control, sound decision-making, practical knowledge, and professional standards.

Rather than operating as a high-volume flight school, we accept a limited number of students and tailor each program to the individual. Training is thorough, flexible, and scenario-based, with an emphasis on understanding why the helicopter behaves the way it does and developing the judgment needed to operate it safely.

Every lesson at Havens Aviation is guided by a simple philosophy: exceptional pilots are developed through more than flight time alone. Lasting proficiency comes from combining technical knowledge with practical skill, sound judgement, and a commitment to continual learning. These five principles form the foundation of every stage of training.

Knowledge to understand the aircraft.

Skill to fly it with precision.

Judgement to make sound decisions.

Confidence built through competence.

Professionalism that lasts a lifetime.

OUR TRAINING HELICOPTERS

We currently train students in the Schweizer 300C, a time-tested training aircraft that serves as the backbone to countless training fleets throughout the world. With its impeccable safety record the Schweizer has no additional training requirements and features a spacious, comfortable cabin.

We also offer a Bell Jet Ranger for turbine transition training for advanced students.

Whether you are beginning your private pilot training, preparing for a commercial career, returning to flying, or looking to improve specific skills, our goal is the same:

To help you become a better helicopter pilot—not simply a licensed one.
